News & FAQs
Under the new management of YoloArts, the Gibson House property is located at 512 Gibson Road in Woodland. YoloArts is currently facilitating landscape improvements and renovations to create innovative ways to experience the Gibson House and surrounding property.
We look forward to sharing the stories of the Gibson Family and the many others who have contributed to our unique and diverse Yolo County cultural history. Working collaboratively with local and countywide community members, organizations, historians and artists, we are exploring opportunities to generate new material and scholarship about the Gibson House and the original agricultural land. YoloArts is committed to discovering unique and creative ways to develop a new community space that builds on the legacy of this important historical site.
YoloArts offers high-quality, standards-based educational field trips for 3rd grade classes led by our dedicated docents . Located on a 2.5-acre park in the heart of Woodland, the Gibson House property has been lovingly preserved to reflect the history of Yolo County and its diverse community. Students will get a glimpse of life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries through a guided tour and hands- on activities which include butter churning, corn husking, and art making.
Field trips are available Tuesdays through Thursdays, 9am-12pm, during March, April, and May of 2019. Requests will be filled in the order received.
· Email your preferred date and number of students to firstname.lastname@example.org;
