YoloArts announces Youth Arts Studio (YAS) Program for Teens

YoloArts is pleased to announce the new Youth Arts Studio (YAS) Program for high school students which features 4-6 week sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 – 6:30pm at the new studio at the Gibson House and Property. This year’s pilot features resident artists and cultural bearers leading sessions on analog and digital photography, poetry, mixed media, and mural making.

YoloArts is dedicated to cultivating and enriching people’s lives through the arts. This is accomplished through Arts Education Programming, The Barn Gallery, Gallery 625, the Art & Ag Project, and Art in Public Places. The 2023-24 Youth Arts Studio Program seeks to promote arts education extracurricular opportunities geared toward high school students of all skill levels, and visual, performing, and literary arts forms.

YoloArts is thrilled to support flourishing arts programming that will help inspire young artists to begin developing art skills, support their well-being, and contribute to the arts and culture economy of Yolo County. We are thankful for the opportunity to uplift the teens in Yolo County.

This program is partially funded by the California Arts Council Creative Youth Development grant. Through the generosity of this grant, students enrolled in Cache Creek High School, Cesar Chavez Community School, Pioneer High School and Woodland High School are eligible to receive a full scholarship. Students enrolled in Yolo County high schools and surrounding counties may register for any open session. For more information or to access the application visit: www.yoloarts.org/yas
