My personal vision for painting is the recovery of classical aesthetic and technical values. Likely this means stepping away somewhat from the Arts as they are understood in the postmodern era (at least according to what I've been taught). Trying to step away from the "Idea" as sole governor of the Arts. Trying to balance craft and concept, trade and idea. Balancing history and context: fitting classical values into a modern context.
