YoloArts is excited to announce Uprooted: Reflections on Relocation and Reslience, a compelling new exhibition at The Barn Gallery. All are welcome to this free event!
The artists featured are:
- Pilar Agüero-Esparza
- Susana Arias
- Sandra Beard
- Richard Gilles
- Kristin Lindseth
Through sculpture, paintings, mixed media, and photography the artists in this exhibit examine concepts of displacement – whether through wars, famine, family, or opportunity –and the power of the human spirit to find a new home.
This exhibit presents different aspects of migration and emigration, ranging from the challenges of uprooting from an ancestral homeland, assimilating into a new culture, and perceptions of the world and life that were left behind.
Uprooted: Reflections on Relocation and Reslience continues at the Barn Gallery through June 1, 2024.
Artwork can also be viewed (and purchased) online at yoloarts.org/online-galleries.
Regular open hours of The Barn Gallery are Wednesdays and Thursdays 2:30-5 p.m, select Saturdays and by appointment.
The Barn Gallery and the Gibson House are located at 512 Gibson Road in Woodland. For more information contact YoloArts at 530-309-6464 or ya@yoloarts.org.
