A Message from YoloArts

Dear Friend of YoloArts,

As 2018 begins, we are grateful and energized by the support we have received from county and local governments, nonprofit organizations, artists, students, and community members like you.

You can find our annual report for 2016-17 on our website and take a look at our financial picture, as well as gain a sense of the multiple ways people in Yolo County engage with YoloArts.

Recently, you may have heard about a YoloArts transition to a new location. Earlier this year, we were invited by Yolo County to consider operation of the Gibson House in Woodland. This 2-acre park with the mansion and outbuildings is a well-known and loved cultural resource. We looked carefully at this invitation, evaluating the benefit for our organization and the benefit to those who have worked for many years to keep the mansion operating.

After almost a year of meetings with Yolo County staff, members of the Board of Supervisors, and the Yolo County Historical Museum, the Board of Supervisors approved the operational plan submitted by YoloArts. The Gibson House and grounds would be operated as a cultural center for the Yolo County community by YoloArts.

We are excited about this opportunity to continue our work at a precious cultural and historical icon. We envision the cultural center as part of the fabric of Yolo County’s vibrant community where arts, history, and culture are celebrated and central to its identity and expression. As we develop the details of programming and services, we are committed to a community conversation and collaboration with our partners to ensure that we build on the heritage of this important historical home and the 35+ years of YoloArts’ organization.

We look forward to continuing and growing our current programs, and are excited to expand our vision and activities with our community at the forefront of all we do!

Warm Regards,

YoloArts Board of Directors and Staff
