Student Art Work at May First Friday in Woodland

High school students will be exhibiting their art work in downtown Woodland during the First Friday ArtWalk at the Woodland Public Library Leake Community Room, 250 First St. in Woodland, on  Friday, May 3, 5:30 – 8 p.m.

The student pop-up art show and sale will feature paintings, ceramics, photography and digital media art works made by students at Cesar Chavez Community School (in Woodland and West Sacramento) and Dan Jacobs School in Yolo County Juvenile Hall through YoloArts’ Juvenile Justice Arts Education program.

Yolo County Office of Education and Yolo County Probation are partners on this project funded by a grant from the California Arts Council.

Teaching artists Susan Shelton and Tomás Montoya have worked with these students throughout the school year, as they developed skills in a variety of artistic disciplines with the instruction of these professional artists.
