YoloArts Speaker Series Begins at the Gibson House and Property in August

A monthly speaker series featuring experts and professionals speaking on art, history, and agriculture topics begins August 14 at the Gibson House and Property, 512 Gibson Rd, in Woodland.

The series, Knowledge @ Noon, is scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month, noon-12:45 p.m., August through December, at the Gibson House and Property in Woodland.

Kicking off the series will be Sacramento artist, Susan Silvester, whose work is currently exhibited in the Barn Gallery’s show, Traditional Techniques: Contemporary Prints. Silvester’s talk will include a printmaking demonstration.

Susan Silvester is an interdisciplinary artist, originally from New York City. Working in a variety of materials, she explores the possibilities of what different mediums express by using the same imagery. She recently won the Best in Show Award for the Effie Yeaw Art Where the Wild Things Are Exhibition at Sacramento Fine Arts Center.

Knowledge @ Noon is a free monthly speaker series featuring experts and professionals working in the fields of art, history, and agriculture. Local and regional professionals will be exploring themes central to the work of YoloArts, exhibitions, the Yolo County Historical Collection, and timely topics about Yolo County agriculture.

Participants are encouraged to bring lunch and enjoy an informative, inspiring speaker and gather some new knowledge.
