PHOTOGRAPHY MONTH SACRAMENTO is a region-wide celebration of photographic art reaching across communities, bringing people together.
EVENT OVERVIEW:
Photography Month Sacramento, April 2020 is ramping up for another great offering of exhibits, workshops, field trips, parties and so much more. For the second Photography Month Sacramento, we’ll be including Sacramento, Placer, Nevada, Yolo and El Dorado Counties in the outreach and activities.
Photography Month Sacramento is a new biennial happening for the visual arts. Photography Month 2018 was a great success with over 40 organizations participating and 60 events. We hope to surpass this for 2020 with activities and events throughout the entire region and we need you to make it all work.
TO PARTICIPATE:
Participating museums, galleries, educational institutions, retailers, restaurants, bars, businesses and more, create their own photographic events to celebrate the art of photography throughout the month of April 2020. Collaboration is encouraged to add impact and creativity to your events. The month long calendar of events managed by Sacramento365 will be posted on the Photography Month Sacramento web site (www.photomonthsac.org) under Events and on the web sites of all the participating and supporting organizations.
TO START:
1.) Let us know you’ll be joining in by sending an e-mail to Roberta McClellan, the Event Director at executivedirector@viewpointgallery.org.
2.) Once you’ve created the basic structure of your event, please post it to the Photography Month Sacramento web site at: www.photomonthsac.org/events.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We would like as many events posted by Jan. 31, 2020 as possible. This will help us enormously with advance marketing.
3.) Start creating your marketing outreach and attend the Photography Month Sacramento group meetings at Viewpoint (dates to be announced).
4.) ADD-ON BONUS: Once participating groups begin posting you can look for possible collaborations for your event. Outreach and collaboration opportunities are the best parts of this month-long event!
