The Barn Gallery Presents: Inspired…

The Barn Gallery’s upcoming exhibition Inspired… is a collection of work created by Teaching Artists working in Yolo County featuring Angelo Esquivel, Cara Gregor, Emma Montalbano, Katie DelaVaughn, Linda Fitz Gibbon, Melissa Uroff, Mikaela Watson, and Tomás Montoya and opens with a reception from 5:30 – 8:00pm on Thursday, November 20th, 2025.

What if we consider inspiration as a cycle instead of a starting point? Before a tangible artwork can be created, inspiration and knowledge have to come together to create the ideal conditions to spark a creator to take action. Meet eight of YoloArts’ Teaching Artists and Educators who are constantly activating the cycle of Inspiration in our community in this group exhibition that highlights their professional artistic practices.

The common thread between the artists exhibited is their connection to YoloArts’ education programs that work directly with the youth and community members around the county. They have each become masters at working WITH a community instead of FOR a community, encouraging participants to create something incredible of their own.

Inspired… centers what these artists create and celebrates the cycle of inspiration that enables and fuels their own artistic practice. This show includes Ceramic, Digital Illustration, Installation, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, and Printed art works.

“The work these artists do inspires me every day to find new ways to support them and other creative practitioners in our community. We need Art Educators to continue to spread inspiration in order for joy to thrive in Yolo County.” -Jenna Harris, Artist Engagement Director, YoloArts

The opening reception for Inspired… will be held on Thursday, November 20th 5:30-8:00 p.m. with acknowledgements and a raffle of YoloArts Swag at 6:00 p.m. Music by Jon Spivack. Light refreshments and Yolo County wines sponsored by Montgomery and Associates CPAs. Gibson House will be open during the reception.

Inspired… continues at the Barn Gallery through February 14, 2026. Open hours of The Barn Gallery are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 12-3 p.m.
