In its 19th year, YoloArts’ Art Farm exhibition celebrates the farmlands of Yolo County and the art they inspire. The Art Farm exhibition and celebration event in October is the yearly culmination of YoloArts’ Art & Ag project. Local farmers are invited to open their private landscapes to artists for monthly visits. The project has visited over 100 farms across Yolo County.
Kicking off the Art Farm season is an exhibition opening reception on Thursday, September 17 from 5:30-8pm at The Barn Gallery in Woodland. Visitors will view original artworks by local and regional artists.
The exhibition includes the Juried Silent Auction. The 35 artworks in the Juried Silent Auction were selected by guest juror Bryan Valenzuela. Valenzuela is a Northern California based artist who has received numerous mural commissions including permanent works in San Francisco, Chicago, Napa, Washington D.C. and Sacramento, as well as temporary works in New Orleans and New York. He has won First Place at the Crocker Kingsley Biennial, Best in Show at the California State Fair Fine Art Exhibition, received the Leff Davis Grant for Emerging Artists, and exhibited nationally in many group shows, most notably for Scope at Miami Art Basel and Moniker in London. In 2025, Valenzuela’s work was acquired by the Crocker Art Museum becoming a part of their permanent collection. This year, he completed his mural “Big Splash” at the Woodland Aquatics Center.
“Working with Bryan Valenzuela this year to jury our Silent Auction has been so refreshing. He really took his time to review the details in each artist’s piece and submission form, spending around 4 hours to select the 35 pieces. His recent work at the Aquatic Center really connected him with the heart of Yolo; his respect for the artist’s individual works was tangible, resulting in a spectacular selection that feels like home to our Art Farm community.” – Jenna Harris, Artist Engagement Director, YoloArts
The evening reception will include the 6:30 p.m. announcement of the juried prize winners by Valenzuela. Three artists will receive cash prizes for Best in Show, Best in Plein Air and Best in Photography.
The evening will also feature local wine and refreshments.
The Art Farm exhibition runs through October 17 at The Barn Gallery.
