YoloArts Set to Host 13th Annual Art Farm – A 2020 Live Stream Celebration

YoloArts is celebrating 13 years of farm visits with a multi-media fundraising event featuring an art harvest, auction, awards, and music on Saturday October 10 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This year will look a little different from Art Farms past but will hold the same spirit of bringing the beauty of the farmlands and artistic expression to the community. Artwork inspired by Yolo County farmlands including work created on Art and Ag project farm sites throughout Yolo County will once again be available for harvest and auction at this year’s special event. At least 101 works by 71 artists will be featured at the event for harvest and auction.

A unique addition to this year’s event will be a special livestreaming event at noon October 2 on Facebook, where the exhibition’s juried award winners were/will be announced.

The exhibition’s juror is California based artist, Randall Sexton, who is nationally known for the color and expressive brushwork in his oil paintings of “everyday” scenes. Originally from rural New England, Sexton transplanted to San Francisco, after completing a BFA from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, in 1980. Since then, he has been a fixture in the Bay Area art scene with a reputation as an inspiring teacher and collectable fine artist. For ten years he held a position with the San Francisco Academy of Art. He teaches private workshops and classes including Pixar Studios. This year he’ll be teaching at California College of Art in Oakland.

Sponsors for the event include: Frank and Nancy Muller; TS&L Seed Co.; Chamberlain Farms; Todd Montgomery, CPA; Farm Credit West; Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry; Bayer Crop Science; Beth and Joe Coehlo; Edward Jones; First Northern Bank: Debra Gonella and Whit Manley; Beth and Tom Jackson; Grow West; Neil and Becky Dougherty; Remy Moose Manley, LLP; Tauzer Apiaries/ Sola Bee Farms; Yolo Federal Credit Union; Dan and Laura Flory; Tiffany Wright.

The Art Farm Live Stream Celebration can be enjoyed from the comfort of your living room where participants will ‘harvest’ artwork, bid on the silent auction, watch video presentations and enjoy music by DJ Char Ramos. The live event will be hosted by Yolo County farmer, Frank Muller. Picnic boxes will be prepared and provided by Kitchen 428 and Savory Café, along with special treats from Nugget Markets, Food 4 Less, and Capay Valley Lavender.

All are invited to attend the Art Farm Live Stream Celebration by purchasing a general admission ticket for two ($75) that includes two individually packed picnic boxes and the opportunity to bid on juried silent auction art.
