Exhibition Proposal
Gallery 625, is committed to supporting the continual growth and development of the arts in Yolo County by providing space and opportunity for art exhibitions. The gallery exhibits a wide range of artistic mediums by emergent and established local artists.
Exhibitions and receptions are hosted every other month. New exhibitions will open on the First Fridays of February, April, June, August, October, and December.
The Barn Gallery, is located at the Gibson House and Property in Woodland, CA. Committed to supporting the expansion of vibrant cultural and fine arts programming, YoloArts' The Barn Gallery will feature a diverse and inclusive representation of local, regional and national artists, arts organizations and traveling exhibitions.
Exhibitions and receptions are hosted quarterly. New exhibitions will open in March, July, September and December.
- The Barn Gallery accepts proposals for 2D, 3D, installation, digital and performance art. Artists and artist organizations are invited to submit proposals for group exhibits, installations & collaborations
- The artwork is solely the result of the artistic effort of the artist(s).
- Original artwork that compliments the exhibit space (2D work with an average size of 9” x 12” (framed) and not exceeding 6’ x 8’.) 3D work may be displayed on pedestals provided by the gallery or by the artist. Plexi cases provided by artist.
- 2D Artwork must meet professional gallery display standards - framed and wired to be installation-ready; unframed artwork on canvas or board must be wired. (No sawtooth hangers)
- Fabric works and other non-traditional unframed works must come with some system for display
- Gallery Dimensions:
- 1400 sq ft
- East Wall: 17' | Center Wall: 53' | West Wall 23' | North Wall: 13'
- Ceiling Height: 8'-10'
- Gallery 625 accepts proposals for 2D, 3D (size/space limitations on 3D work)
- The artwork is solely the result of the artistic effort of the artist.
- Original artwork that compliments the exhibition space (2D work with an average size of 11” x 14” but not exceeding 48”x48” and 3D work to fit into 2 glass cases measuring 5’W x 4’H x 1.5’D)
- 2D Artwork must meet professional gallery display standards - framed and wired to be installation-ready; unframed artwork on canvas or board must be wired. (No sawtooth hangers)
- Fabric works and other non-traditional unframed works must come with some system for display
A proposal must include the following:
- Basic contact information (Name, address, phone, email, website)
- Preferred exhibition dates:
- The Barn Gallery(Dec–Feb; March-June; July-Aug; Sept-Nov)
- Gallery 625 (Feb/Mar, Apr/May, June/July, Aug/Sept, Oct/Nov, Dec/Jan)
- Exhibition Type(solo/ group/ traveling)
- Exhibition Title
- Narrative(100-300 words)- Complete description of proposed exhibition concept, relevance of topic and intended outcomes.
- Artist Statement (100-300 words)
- Educational Components- Complete description of artists interest, expertise and availability for workshops, classes or lectures.
- Attachments
- CV or resume, and/or bio
- Headshot of artist
- Digital images of artwork– 4 jpegs/artist 300dpi (labelled with last name_title_dimensions)
- Image checklist - Include thumbnail image, title, dimensions, media, date, value
- Images of artwork displayed in gallery space (if applicable)
Submission:
Send completed proposals as a PDF attachment to YoloArts' Exhibition Manager, Bridgett Rexford.
Selection:
Proposals are reviewed quarterly. The Arts Committee reviews all submissions and makes recommendations for exhibitions to YoloArts Staff for approval.
